THE FIRST AND THE LAST

264

TUESDAY OF THE TWENTIETH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR ( A)

R1:- Ezekiel 28:1-10
PS:- Deuteronomy 32:26-27ab.27cd-28.30.35cd-36ab
Accl:- 2 Corinthians 8:9
Gosp:- Matthew 19:23-30

“Many that are first will be last, and the last first.”

Those who believe more in their wealth and loose sight of God are not better than the poor who know their need of God.

The who sit in the front pew in the church may have no position in the sight of God. Those who the world praise and adore may have no portfolio in God’s kingdom.

The riches that gives one a low place in heaven is not measured by the amount of our belongings, but by the undue importance we attach to what we possess.

The more the trust we have in material acquisition, the less of God we have.

When we have God we have everything.

In God’s kingdom, pain is gain. When we give we receive. The bottom line is simply to put God first.

“And every who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name sake, will receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life”

May none of our belongings block our way to heaven. May all our services to God never be in vain. Amen.
