Abram demonstrates in our first reading today that our journey with God should be one of faith and trust. Abram walked with God in faith, as leaving his father’s land for an unknown place seemed foolish to human eyes. Yet, he followed God’s instructions because he was a man of faith. Due to his faith, God assured him of protection and reward.

Abram asked God for a child, but God gave him generations. This is God’s pattern: He often gives more than we ask for. Solomon asked for wisdom, and God added wealth. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33 to seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness, and everything else will be added.

When we walk with God in faith, it reflects in the fruit we bear. Walking with God should yield fruit that reflects His character. If we walk with God faithfully, we’ll definitely bear good fruit.

Friends, let’s demonstrate our dependence on God like Abram. Let’s put our faith in God to work, and we’ll see everything else being added. May God bless us with the gift of trust and faith in Him. Amen.”

Shalom!
