HOMILY OF MONDAY OF THE 26TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR A

The Holy Guardian Angels

Zechariah 8:1-8, Matthew 18:1-5,10

THEME: THE ANGELS OF GOD’S PRESENCE

Today we celebrate the memorial of the holy guardian angels.

Experience has shown that each person possesses a guiding spirit that should be acknowledged and followed. However, our life choices should align with their guidance to allow them to fulfill their role effectively.

In today’s gospel, Jesus instructed the disciples not to despise the littles children because their angels stand before God always. The innocence of children gives them express access to God’s presence. Hence, we must take care lest we lead them astray by corrupt influence and thereby stiffen the life of grace off them.

As we grow older let us strive not to lose our innocence and thereby block our way to God’s presence. Being on the right page with our guardian angels open us to this continuous dwelling in God’s presence. In God’s presence, there is fullness of joy. For enjoy complete harmony with our angels, let us maintain constant joy and steer clear of anything that brings sadness.. Singing praises is an antidote. It is one of the prerogatives of the angels.

By our lifestyles and choices, may we always enjoy in the company of our angels. Amen.
