*THEME: HOW TO ENJOY WHAT MONEY CANNOT BUY*

He is the richest who possesses more of what money cannot buy.

There are some people in our lives who are offering services which money cannot be exchanged for. They may not have the certificates or may not be seen as significant, but their presence may mean shelter or fortune for their host. Their age is not a limiting factor to what they can offer. Such individuals are God’s secret intelligence. Though their presence or roles may seem to be unconnected to the fruits of their labour, their absence must always create a crack.

However, we always meet such angelic presence in our day-to-day life. We simply pray that such people should not be dislodged from our lives.

Having actualized his mission for Sarah and Tobit’s family, “Tobit called his son Tobias and said to him, “My son, see to the wages of the man who went with you; and he must also be given more. So he called the angel and said to him, take for your wages half of all you have brought back, and farewell.”

Interestingly, St Raphael’s response amazed them when he disclosed his identity and told him how he has been observing his deeds. “And so, when you and your daughter-in-law Sarah prayed, I brought a reminder of your prayer before the Holy One; and when you buried the dead, I was likewise present with you. When you did not hesitate to rise and leave your dinner in order to go and lay out the dead, I was sent to test you. So now God sent me to heal and your daughter-in- law Sarah.”

Moreover, the rich can die of common disease, while the poor survive the most awful of all sickness. What God does for us cannot be quantified. Its simply good to be good. The goodness of Tobit paid him. prayed, he fasted, he gave alms and lived righteously.

May God give us all that money cannot buy. Amen.
