Today, we celebrate the Nativity of our Blessed Mother Virgin Mary. A feast so special to the Church. The queen of peace, the bearer of the savior, mother of God, the ever Virgin both before and after the birth of our Lord. The already prepared one that God prefers. The person and dedication of the Virgin can never be over emphasized. That is why we will continue to celebrate her YES and everything that surrounds her, which through whom salvation came into the world.
Both the first reading and the Gospel are pointing to one message. “God makes his preparation through anywhere and anyone.”
The first reading by prophet Micah was emphasizing how low a town Bethlehem was, and despite that, God chose it as a place to do his greatest work and show his greatest love.
The genealogy of Christ, by extension our blessed mother as read in the Gospel of today, showed that God works through mankind to save mankind. There are those who are popular and unpopular, prestigious and non prestigious, sinners and righteous, and what have you in the lineage of Christ and our blessed mother. But God, through them, picked a Virgin to bear a son.
God’s ways are not our ways. The salvation of the world he prepared for when it was due and through places and people whom he chose to prepare that with.
As we celebrate our mother today let us remember and learn that the virgin mother before God sent the Angel to talk to her she has prepared herself maintaining her virginity and sacred self and for that reason we will continue to celebrate her. We are special instruments of God, but as our blessed mother from birth readied herself to be used by God anytime, let us try to be always ready to be God’s own.
We beckon on our blessed mother to continue to intercede for us, especially on this special feast of her nativity
PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL
