Homily of Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent, 17th December, 2025
Ref:Gen 49:2;8-10, Matt 1:1-17

Dear friends in Christ,
As we approach the peak of this Advent season, we’re presented with an often-overlooked passage in scripture: the genealogy of Jesus. This isn’t just a list of names; it’s a proclamation of God’s faithfulness across generations.
We see unexpected people like Rahab, Tamar, Ruth, and Bathsheba, reminding us that God’s plans often unfold through unlikely individuals – saints and those who faltered. Don’t focus on just one chapter of your life, friends; God sees the whole story. He weaves redemption into every chapter, even those that seem off or unworthy.
Let this truth sink in: nothing is wasted in God’s hands. He can rewrite a story, and it’s never over until it’s over. Often, God’s work is clearest in hindsight.
Peace be with you.
