At the Spiritans Community in Carfin, members of the British Province, Scotland Region, gathered for a memorial Mass to honour their departed confreres today, 26th of November, 2024. The event brought together Rev. Fathers Francis Dometiero, Paddy Gaffney, Gabriel Onoyima, John MacFadden, Godfrey Odigbo, Orilua Oluwafemi, Remigius Ndubuisi, Bartholomew Zubeviel, and seminarians Dennis and Valentine Nwafor-Orizu.

The occasion began with a solemn Holy Mass at 12:00 PM, celebrated with the worshiping community. Fr. Bartholomew Zubeviel, the regional coordinator, presided over the liturgy, while Fr. John MacFadden delivered a poignant homily reflecting on the life and mission of the departed confreres.

Following the Mass, the confreres visited the cemetery for a heartfelt prayer session led by Fr Godfrey, at the gravesites of their departed brethren. This solemn moment offered an opportunity to pray for their eternal repose and reflect on the legacy they left behind.

Afterward, the group returned to the community for a shared meal, meant to foster fellowship and unity among the attendees. This special gathering served as a reminder of the Spiritan mission and the fleeting nature of earthly life, inspiring all to live purposefully in service to God and humanity.

It was a moment of deep reflection—recognising the call to honour the memory of those who have gone before while recommitting to the mission of winning souls for the Lord. In faith, they found comfort that their departed confreres now rest in the bosom of the Lord, who had called them to this noble vocation.
