In the first reading of today, St. Paul invites us to reflect on the mystery of God’s supremacy and mercy. He explains that God’s plan includes everyone — both Jews and Gentiles. No one is left out of His love. Paul’s message is clear: every person, no matter their past or condition, has a place in God’s heart. God never takes back his gift or revoked his choices. God is everything, and everything is God. We , as followers of Christ, should know that God’s ways are not our ways, and as humans, we do not have that full capability to grasp the full mind of God. All that exists comes from him; all is by him and for him.

In the Gospel, Jesus calls us to move away from our usual logic of life and to invite to our tables those who cannot repay us. He teaches us that love must go beyond comfort and convenience. It must not be quid pro quo. Love and generosity should go beyond classism. Christ wants us to understand that when we reach out to those who are forgotten, we restore their sense of belonging. We remind them that they, too, are part of God’s family. To give with such love is to share not only material things but also the gift of dignity. There is even a greater reward when we give out to those who can not repay us when we sacrifice for those whom we know who are struggling and can’t pay back. When we accommodate, invite and treat those poor ones around us well.

When we give freely and lovingly, we reflect God’s own nature. We become living signs of His mercy in a world that often judges by status or wealth. This is what Christ did during his ministry by identifying with those on the margins, giving them a voice, and showing them that they are also true images of God.

Finally, brothers and sisters we are invited to go beyond the “ideal” and recognise those whom the society fails to associate with, we are to give them a voice and make them have that sense of true belonging to the family of God and human society. That is what Christian generosity is all about

PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL
