THEME: THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING PART OF GOD’S MISSION OF SALVATION
What the Lord promised the house of Israel has now been fulfilled through Mary.
It is something of honour to be the one through who God’s designs will be fulfilled. At the annunciation, Mary was afraid, because he couldn’t imagine herself being favoured to be the mother of the world’s Saviour.
The angel said to Mary,
” _Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.”_ Luke 30-31.
However, a messiah is a Saviour, whoever aligns himself with Jesus must be part of the movement that works to save his or her society. Mary humbly consented to be the ark of God’s covenant by claiming that singular honour of being the vessel which ushers in salvation to the world.
Let’s us live our life in manner worthy of the promises of Christ.
May our life be that of a daily preparation for the fulfillment of God’s plan in the world. May the Lord count us worthy to be part of the motions that form a world redeemed. Amen.
