HOMILY OF MONDAY IN THE 25TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR A

Ezra 1:1-6, Luke 8:16-18

THEME: NOTHING IS HIDDEN

We often advise ourselves to keep a low profile or conceal our success stories from those who may oppose our progress. However, this may not give sufficient protection from those who intend to harm us. It is God who takes care of His own.  Nothing on earth is hidden.

St Paul said,

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

In today’s gospel, Jesus said to the crowds:

“No one lights a lamp to cover it with a bowl or to put it under a bed. No, he puts it on a lampstand so that people may see the light when they come in. For nothing is hidden but it will be made clear, nothing secret but it will be known and brought to light.”

Nonetheless, our public image can be preserved by leading a virtuous private life. Though charity begins at home, it does not end there. Let us make good use of every opportunity we have to the greater glory of God. He will takes care of us and direct us on how to order our lives.

May all we do inside out enjoy God’s endorsement that He may always protect us all the way. Amen.
