2 Corinthians 11:18,21-30, Matthew 6:19-23

THEME: MEANINGFUL INVESTMENT

Our most valuable investment lies in the collective legacies we leave behind, etched in the sands of time. It is determined by the lasting impact we have made on humanity through our actions and contributions. Our physical structures, beyond the limited space they provide for shelter, hold little significance if they fail to serve others. They are mere fleeting luxuries that diminish over time, unable to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of those around us.

Jesus said in the Gospel, “Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and woodworms destroy them and thieves can break in and steal. But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor woodworms destroy them and thieves cannot break in and steal.”

Paul in the first reading boasts more of what he had to suffer for Christ. Christ is present, wherever there is a need. Jesus once said in Matthew 25:40 “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” We can see him as the face of the suffering humanity.

May our lives be an embodiment of daily service for others.
