Homily of Wednesday 32nd Week in the Ordinary Time Year B.
Ref: Titus 3:1-7; Luke:17:11-19

Dear friends in Christ, we continue to read from Paul’s admonition and encouragement to Titus and his people. We are to learn from what Paul tells them.

Paul tells Titus to remind the people of their duty to be obedient to the officials and representatives of government. The question that comes to mind is, with this type of government in Nigeria, what is there to respect?

We have every right to disrespect the government and destroy properties of the government during protest but is that the right thing for a servant of God to do? No! Irrespective of the economic and political instability we should always stand out as Christians not condoling evil but acting as Sons and Daughters of Christ.

We should be ready to do good to people at every opportunity we get, we should always be polite to all kinds of people. Our kind gestures can make people have a rethink.

Friends, it may be difficult but it is not impossible. Let us therefore ask the Lord to help us with his Holy Spirit so as to live a virtuous life, a life that manifests virtues. Amen.

Peace be with you!
