Constant contact with God will always give us the courage to live on despite the sorrows we may meet in life. Our life struggles without God can only produce pain and bitterness, but when we do not give up our hope, we will live from the sweeter side of life.
Called from our today’s Gospel, we are intimated with the brief story of Anna. She was a woman who was widowed very early in life, yet at her old age, she never gave up on God. Her personal contact with God in prayer and fasting won her the serenity that quenched the psychological weight of her widowhood.
Interestingly, Anna came to the temple at the exact time when Jesus was brought for presentation. She was given the insight to speak about Jesus as the Saviour to come.
Likewise, we are call to possess our mind no matter what we may be facing in life. God’s eternal wisdom can only find a home in a mind that is sane.
May no human predicament rob us of our divine illumination through Christ our Lord. Amen.
