Homily of Wednesday in the 22nd week of Ordinary Time Year C. (St Gregory the Great)
Ref:Col 1:1-8, Lk 4:38-44
By: Rev Fr Felix Olátúnjí Yayi, C.S.Sp.
Dear people of God,
Have you ever faced a seemingly hopeless situation? A health issue that defies medical solutions, with no diagnosis or treatment in sight? If you’ve been there or know someone who has, Jesus’ encounter in Luke 4:38-44 offers hope.
Jesus demonstrates His authority over the invisible, the unseen, and the inexplicable. The sicknesses that baffle medical expertise, the afflictions that have no earthly solution – Jesus has power over them all.
In a world where answers often fall short, Jesus stands ready to bring healing when all hope seems lost. Our Gospel text reveals His dominion over the invisible realm, where unseen battles rage. Yet, Jesus fights on our behalf.
Let this truth shape our response. Let us prioritize prayer, nurturing our relationship with Jesus, the Great Healer. As we do, we can trust that He will intervene in the impossible situations.
Today, we pray for the sick, that they may receive healing. We pray for those in need of deliverance, that Jesus Himself will set them free. May His power and love bring hope to the hopeless. Amen.
Peace.
