THEME: HUMILITY IN SERVICE.
A times, when we have some kinds of special gifts or we are endowed with the power to perform signs, we often overstep our curtailed marked out lines. We can easily forget that genuine gifts or talents are tied to the virtue of humility.
More so, we love forming the habit of trumpeting our tigeritude, forgetting that it is what we do that will speak for us and not what we say about what we do. Some people easily expose themselves to undue attacks when they succumb to the temptation to blow their achievement even before people get to understand their main missions.
However, Jesus respect the religious authority in his time when he told the leper who he had cleansed to go and show himself to the priest and perform the required rituals.
These days, there are different self- acclaimed prophets and prophetesses. They often tell those who patronise them to sow seed into their lives before they can attend to their problems. Some who want to be prudent, would say,” get some gifts and sow them as seed into the life of a man of God. They say this after they must have blown their prophetic drum so loud before their clients. They quite know that their catched have no option than to sow the seed into their own life, since they know that they have enthroned themselves into the person’s life.
Contrariwise, Jesus would rather say, ” _See that you say nothing to any one, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to the people.”_ Having restored this man to health, he consequently gave him the instruction for a proper insertion into the community.
May we not be too drunk with the glory that follows our successes in life. May no human achievement or public recognition sink us into dungeon of early exposure that can abort our life dream(s)
