WISDOM FOR THE KINGDOM

HOMILY: THURSDAY OF THE SEVENTH WEEK OF EASTER

Acts 22:30;23:6-11, Psalms 16:1-2a.5.7-8.9-10, Accl: John 17:21, Gospel 17:20-26

THEME: WISDOM FOR THE KINGDOM

In the quest to survive in life:

There before the council and on trial, “When Paul perceived that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Brethren, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; with respect to the hope and the resurrection of the dead I am on trial.”And when he had said this, dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees; and the assembly was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, not spirit; but the Pharisees acknowledge all.”

STORY

It was said of a man who had two friends. He made everything possible to make sure that his two friends are not in good term. He was alternating his special show of love between them. All to make sure that the two of them would not agree one day against any of his decisions or the position he may take.

Quotes:

It takes wisdom to use opportunities well.

One must learn to read the sign of time.

Wisdom is not simply being tricky, cunning, or smart.

True wisdom does not seek personal interest.

PRAYER

Lord, help me in  my daily struggles to know the right decisions to make. Give me the wisdom that sits on your throne.  Give me the wisdom that will enables me to maximize every opportunity around me.  Make me an agent of unity and love. May I not be a herald of division. Amen
