It is the intention of every human living in this earth to continue living forever. Death is always feared as a terrible experience. Thus no one would want to die for nothing. Today’s gospel speaks of eternal life.

However, today’s gospel passage presents a powerful interaction between Jesus and the Jewish leaders, highlighting his promises of eternal life, His divine identity, and the challenges of comprehending spiritual truths. It calls us to reflect on our own beliefs and openness to God’s revelation through Jesus Christ (John 8:51-59).

Eternal life is a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ. It extends beyond physical death, assuring believers of an everlasting relationship with God. It also underscores the profound truth of Jesus’ divine identity and the significance of faith and obedience in receiving this gift.

Eternal life that Jesus offers is not a physical one, rather it is a life to be spent with Him for all eternity. Those who are not of the way of light would not have this understanding and may not believe in the truth that Jesus brings. Let us strive to live out today a life that brings light to others. Peace be with you.
