HOMILY OF THURSDAY OF THE 3RD WEEK OF EASTER.

Acts 8:26-40, John 6:44-51

THEME: DIVINE ARRANGEMENT

The truth is open to those who make themselves available to it. If we truly thirst for God, he will make himself available to us. God awaits our thirst. He wants to see our hunger for him.

God saw the yearning of the Ethiopian eunuch in the first reading today, that was why he led Philip to go and minister to him. Philp led him to the truth of the gospel and he was baptized.

We live in a world where majority of the people only search for men of God who perform wonders, and not for the God of wonder himself; where men of God select who to minister to and not whom the Lord directed them.

As minsters of God, we must learn to be led by the spirit of the Lord. As Christians, we should desire more of the knowledge of God. Knowing him personally saves us from the wolves who claim to be sent by Him.

Jesus made emphasis on this when he addressed the crowd:

“No one can come to me, unless he is drawn by the Father who sent me, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets: They will all be taught by God, and to hear the teaching of the Father, and learn from it, is to come to me.”

May we find God amidst our daily search for the truth, through Christ our Lord.
