Homily of Tuesday in the 23rd Week of the Ordinary Time Year C. 9th September 2025. Fr Emmanuel Aghidi CSSp.
Texts: Colossians 2:6-15, Luke 6:12-19

Friends, God doesn’t make mistakes. In the eyes of humans, what He does may seem foolish. But He is the one who sees the end from the beginning. Today, Jesus calls his disciples to work with him. They were chosen for a Purpose. The purpose was for propagating the kingdom of heaven. We also know that one of them strayed. But God is God and He knows how to write straight on crooked lines.

All of us have been called in different ways. There is a need to keep evaluating this call. Are we still standing on our duty post or we have gone our ways?

St Paul in the first reading asked that we remain steadfast now that we have received Christ and become established and fully built in him. When we are fully built in him, we will not be easily tossed about by human elements, philosophies and empty deceit.

Let us ask the good Lord to strengthen our weaknesses that we may remain on our duty post.

The Lord be with you.
