COVID-19: THE NEW GENERATION DISEASE

68

COVID-19 is an illness caused by a novel coronavirus now called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; formerly called 2019-nCoV).

It was first discovered in 2019 in the city of Wuhan in the province of Hubei, China during cases of a respiratory disease outbreak.
The WHO got the official report about it in Dec 2019 and on January 30, the WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global health emergency and declared a global pandemic on March 11, 2020.
COVID-19 is an acronym of Corona Virus Disease 2019. The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses on the 11th of February 2020 officially named it: severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
COVID-19 is a common enemy and is not a respecter of person. It does not practice racism nor differentiate between sexes.
It is a virus and not a product of 5G nor any G. Its origin has no connection with the Internet. Don’t allow people who have no medical qualification apart from saying they are anointed or have a calling to confuse or deceive you.
Debunk rumours also about the Pope being part of the conspiracies of COVID-19.
There is a video circulating on social media. Part of the video alleges that the Catholic Church is saying that the government intends to use COVID-19 to control us. That is not the stand of the church. If the church takes a decision or the Pope wants to communicate to the church he will send a circular through the Vatican and your local Bishop will relay the message through your parish priest. Indeed a cardinal and some Bishops say they “have reason to believe, on the basis of official data on the incidence of the epidemic as related to the number of deaths, that there are powers interested in creating panic among the world’s population with the sole aim of permanently imposing unacceptable forms of restriction on freedoms, of controlling people and of tracking their movements. The imposition of these illiberal measures is a disturbing prelude to the realization of a world government beyond all control”. It is not a church document. It is a personal opinion and these group of Church leaders among other professionals are asking people to sign the petition.
Signs and Symptoms of COVID-19
A cough and dyspnea (shortness of breath) or difficulty breathing with at least any two of the following symptoms may indicate COVID-19:
Fever
Sore throat
Muscle pain
New loss of taste or smell
Headache
Chills
Respiratory distress
Fatigue
Studies have shown that pneumonia seems to be the most common serious manifestation of the disease.
The WHO has announced that COVID-19 might live with us for a long time and the expected vaccine might not be effective so expect that too.
It is very important to know that vaccines are neither chips nor sign of the antichrist. We do not have polio, chickenpox, smallpox, measles, tetanus and their likes killing us today because of vaccines. Remember that in those days they were people who kicked against these vaccines and convinced and confused some to avoid them.
Many countries are planning to relax the lockdown. Some states in Nigeria started theirs already but please personal safety is the best vaccination for now worldwide. The virus travels with people. Follow the WHO and NCDC guidelines while you reopen your business and resume work in the coming days.
Stay healthy. Exercise at home. Play and pray with your family. If you have underlining diseases like Diabetics, respiratory and heart problems please protect yourself because you are at high risk if you contact the disease.
Avoid self-medication if you feel sick especially at this time. Dr JoAnn Manson, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital has spoken about the importance of vitamin D in relation with COVID-19.
She said “there’s emerging and growing evidence that vitamin D status may be relevant to the risk of developing COVID-19 infection and to the severity of the disease.
Vitamin D is important to innate immunity and boosts immune function against viral diseases. We also know that vitamin D has an immune-modulating effect and can lower inflammation, and this may be relevant to the respiratory response during COVID-19 and the cytokine storm that’s been demonstrated”.
In her report she went on to say that “here’s now some evidence from COVID-19 patients as well. In an observational study from three South Asian hospitals, the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency was much higher among those with severe COVID illness compared with those with mild illness. In fact, there was about an eightfold higher risk of having severe illness among those who entered with vitamin D deficiency compared with those who had sufficient vitamin D levels”.
Since sunlight is the natural source of vitamin D, it has become important that we spend some time outdoors while maintaining social distancing. This will lead to increased synthesis of vitamin D in the skin, just from the incidental sun exposure. Eat foods that have high vitamin D content as well.
Avoid too much sugar intake and smoking.
Finally, God is still greater than all. So spread faith and not fear. God still own the world.
Stay healthy now and always!
