In the early days of the Church, Christianity was seen as just another Jewish sect. The Jewish faith had various interpretations, including the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Essenes. Christianity, however, marked a significant departure from traditional Jewish practices due to its central belief in Jesus Christ as the Messiah.

The apostles’ experience in today’s first reading is a powerful example. Despite being arrested, they were freed by an angel and instructed to continue witnessing in the Temple. This shows that our faith shouldn’t be hidden; we’re called to be witnesses to the truth. Jesus reminds us that those who believe won’t be condemned.
Some may feel shy to express their faith publicly, but we’re called to witness with our whole being – our words, actions, and way of life. By doing so, we’ll walk in the light of Christ.

Let us pray for the grace to be filled with faith and courage to witness to God’s love. May the Lord bless His words in our hearts through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Shalom!
