HOMILY OF WEDNESDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK OF EASTER.

Acts 5:17-26, John 3:16-21

THEME: BEING UNSTOPPABLE.

God’s mission can never be aborted. Man’s ambition may seem to be reigning, the moment God springs into action, all who stand in his way will be held spell bound. If our mission is led by God, we must be hopeful and never relent. If what we do is just the fruit of our wishful thinking, then, we must retrace our steps, or else we are imprisoned by the forces of the earth.

We could see how the apostles were arrested by the high priest and put into prison in our first reading of today.

“But at night the angel of the Lord opened the prison gates and said as he led them out, ‘Go and stand in the Temple, and tell the people all about this new Life.’ They did as they were told; they went into the Temple at dawn and began to preach.”

Just as their sudden appearance in the temple caused a disturbance among the Sanhedrin, our emergence will always be a matter of concern among those who think that our life or what we stand for is a threat to their own relevance. We must hold our head high, but never lose sight of what God is doing in us and through us. If we do God’s will, we remain unstoppable.

May nothing kill our motivation. May we always be a light to dispel every darkness around us. Amen.
