BEING BORN AGAIN

HOMILY OF TUESDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK OF EASTER

Acts 4:32-37, John 3:7b-15.

THEME: BEING BORN AGAIN

At that time: Jesus said to Nicodemus, you must be born anew. The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:7b-9.

To be born again or anew is to be living under the influence of the Holy Spirit. It is a product of an encounter with Christ. This encounter is what forms the basis of unity among believers.

The company of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had everything in common.” Acts of the Apostles 4:32

We will truly answer the names Christians the day we understand under whose umbrella we gather. The spirit of Christ is what urges our hearts to reach out to others. Christians are known by their act of charity.

May God in the power of his Spirit animate all our actions and lead us to perfect unity.
