The doctrine of the Trinity explains a God who is fully present to all his creations. He is the Father of all, who relates with us in our day-to-day activities through his Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our first reading talks about the wisdom which existed with God before time began, which points to Christ, the Word, “Logos” through whom all things are made. “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth…”
In the second reading, Paul talked about the Father’s love poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit makes all things clear. He helps us to understand the depth of God’s love and how he works among us. Hence, the Lord says in the gospel of John, “All that the Father has is mine; the Spirit will take what is mine and declare it to you. At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
The communion of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit calls for effective communication in the body of Christ. God is one, in three persons. Like God the Father, the creator, and God the Son, the Saviour and Redeemer, and God the Holy Spirit, the sanctifier, we are called to bring our creativity to bare in our concrete life for human transformation. We must use our creativity with sincerity to foster love and unity wherever we find ourselves. In God, there is no hide and seek. The Spirit makes known and makes clear, the mind of the Father as communicated by the Son.
It is the Father, who comes among us in his Son and continues to be with us in the Spirit. He keeps reaching out to us, because of his eternal love. He destined us in love to be moulded in the image of his beloved Son.
May we be Trinitarian in our lives, reaching out in loving and truthful relationship
