From the Streets to a Mission of Hope: The Testimony of Williams Meshach
By Williams Meshach
My name is Williams Mechach. I am from Uganda. My life is a testimony that even in the darkest moments, hope can still rise again.

I was born into a family of six children, but at the tender age of seven, my world collapsed. In 2004, both of my parents passed away from HIV/AIDS, leaving my siblings and me orphaned and helpless. As if that pain was not enough, in 2005, my little three-year-old sister, Brenda, also lost her life to the same illness she had inherited from our parents.

Suddenly, childhood disappeared. Hunger, fear, loneliness, and uncertainty became part of my daily life. With nowhere to go and no one to depend on, I found myself living on the streets of Mbarara, struggling to survive each day.
But God had not forgotten me.

In the middle of my suffering, Pastor Willy Tumwine found me, welcomed me with love, and gave me something I thought I had lost forever — a home, an education, and a reason to believe in life again. He treated me not as a burden, but as a child with value and a future. Because one man chose compassion, my story changed completely.
Through his support, I was able to study and later graduate in Fashion and Design. More importantly, I discovered that the greatest gift we can give another human being is hope.

Today, I have dedicated my life to doing for vulnerable children what someone once did for me. I am now the Founder and Executive Director of a home that cares for street children, orphans, and disadvantaged children. At our orphanage, we provide shelter, food, education, love, and a safe environment where children can dream again.

Currently, I care for fourteen children who, like me, have faced rejection, poverty, and hopelessness. Every day, I look into their eyes and see my own story reflected back at me. I know what it means to sleep hungry, to feel abandoned, and to wonder if anyone cares. That is why I cannot give up on them.
But the need is growing, and we cannot do this alone. There are still many children on the streets waiting for someone to believe in them, to protect them, and to give them a place they can truly call home.
Your support can help change a child’s life forever. By partnering with us, you become part of a mission that restores dignity, rebuilds broken lives, and gives vulnerable children the opportunity to have a future filled with hope.

When I am not caring for the children, I share messages of hope and redemption through gospel music, using my voice to encourage others and glorify God for the grace that transformed my life.
I am living proof that love can rescue, kindness can heal, and one helping hand can rewrite a destiny.
I thank all who will stand with us and open our hearts to children who need a home, love, and a future. May God bless you abundantly.
