Dear friends in Christ, we are approaching the celebration which we have been preparing for (Christmas). As the great feast approaches, our preparations should be intensified. Yesterday, the Church encouraged and continues to encourage us to rejoice and be happy because our hope will soon be fulfilled.

The psalmist today encourages to involve Christ in our lives. Is not all about preparing for his coming or celebrating his coming, but also asking him to make us know his ways. This season avails us with one of the best opportunities of asking the good Lord to teach us his path, to walk in the truth, to guide us on the right path too. We should not allow this opportunity to pass us by. God’s path is always the best.

The path of the Lord is always true, divine, genuine, and even diplomatic. This is clearly shown in the Gospel of today. Firstly, the people who came to ask Christ these questions were the elders of the Church, and second, their questions were not genuine. We can actually be in the situation of Christ, and when we are, what are we going to do. Not every question demands a direct answer. Not every question demands a yes or a No. Some of the questions people ask us, they are using it to bait us, to tempt us, or to trap us. We should like Christ to try to know the intentions of those who approach us and know whether it is genuine. This we can do by allowing ourselves to think and not jumping into answers, and also asking the inspiration of God as with the case of Christ today. Christ was diplomatic without problems without insult and made the elders and chief priests eat their words. We all should learn from that, too.

PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL
