A CHRISTIAN ROLES IN THE SOCIETY
By 1
HOMILY, TUESDAY, FIRST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME
2 Peter 3:12-15a.17-18. Mark 12:13-17
The title of Caesar refers to any sitting emperor of the Roman Empire. And his picture on a coin depicts his political power over the territory where the coin is used.
“Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are to God’s”
This does not mean that we should give attention to both God and Satan. Satan is not God’s equal.
There is no true worship without sacrifice. A good Christian must be relevant in the church.
When we lack generosity or when we have accepted poverty as a norm, we often tend to preach the gospel which says that salvation is free and forget that the church cannot thrive without our humble contributions and offerings.
Without our contributions, we should not expect the provision of social amenities and infrastructures. A good Christian must not be found wanting in the society.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to be responsible in your kingdom. May I play my roles diligently in the society? Grant me your divine values that I may partake in the political affairs without losing your life in me. Thy kingdom come. Amen.
