[FEAST, ST THOMAS, APOSTLE]

Ephesians 2:19-22, John 20:24-29

Faith is the realisation of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen.” Hebrew 11.

The above is the opposite of the popular saying, “seeing is believing”.

From John 11:38-57, we understand that “believing is seeing

The Lord said to Martha, “Did I not tell you that if you believe you will see the glory of God?” John 11:40.

In today’s gospel, the Lord told Thomas, “You have believed because you have seen me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.

Today’s Christianity is a kind that seeks after sign and sensationalism. We forget that there are lots of things happening in the spirit that are hidden from our knowledge. It takes men and women of depth to navigate into them.

God is spirit and he is ever at work in the life of all who have faith in him. May he grant us the depth of experience in the spirit that we may understand him better and trust in him without wavering.
