Posterity

It is noble to do things for the sake of posterity. It’s important to make sacrifices for the sake of generations yet unborn. Sometimes, we get frustrated when we want quick rewards. Believing in a better future encourages us to give up something now for the benefit of the next generation. We shouldn’t expect to enjoy all the fruits of our labor while we’re still alive. Some of the good things we have today are because of the hard work of those who came before us.

Abraham blessings

But, before we claim the blessings of people like Abraham, we should remember the tough times he faced on his journey to becoming the father of many nations. In the first reading, Paul mentioned that even though it seemed impossible for Abraham’s hopes to come true, he kept on hoping and believing. Through this, he did become the father of many nations, just as he had been promised. His descendants multiplied like the stars in the sky.

So, let’s not be in a hurry for quick rewards. Instead, let’s plant seeds of goodness and blessings for future generations. For the sake of posterity, let us be selfless in our dealings. Like Abraham, let’s hold onto hope and faith, even when it seems tough, because that’s how we build a better future for generations to come.

May our faith be fervent and may our hope in God always remain firm, that we may never missed all that he has destined for us. Amen.
