Colossians 2:6-15, Luke 6:12-19

THEME: THE PLACE OF PRAYER

Our gratitude will have no bound when we recognize that everything, we possess is a gift bestowed upon us by the Lord. Hence, the need to consult him on every issue that connects to our life mission or goal. Even in the choice of our friends, we need God. Jesus spent the whole night in prayer before he chose his disciples. We need to pray always to be in the company of those who will help us to realise our goal in life.

It is very clear that prayer was the reason behind the success of Jesus’ ministry. As Christians, when we lose our prayer life, we lose touch with God and we cannot just but result to what Paul described in the first reading as second-hand, empty, rational philosophy based on the principles of this world instead of on Christ.

No effective witness without concrete evidence of the Lord’s power upon us. We are empowered anytime to spend time with God in prayer.  The words of Jesus were full of power and his touch a touch of healing. Let us draw strength from him in order to impact on those around us.

May we always long to be with God in prayer that our lives may minister the healing power of God unto others. Amen
