Homily of Wednesday, First week of Advent. (St Francis Xavier)
Ref: Isa 25:6-10; Matt 15:29-37

Dear friends, as we reflect on our journey of faith, we’re reminded that we’re pilgrims of hope, traveling towards our eternal home. Our time on this earth is a journey, and when it’s complete, we’ll return to our heavenly dwelling.
In today’s Gospel, we see the compassion of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who fed the crowds that followed Him. He saw their need and provided for them, just as He provides for us each day. The Eucharist is our nourishment, the Bread of Life that sustains us on our journey.
Jesus knows the journey can be draining, but He doesn’t want us to grow weary. He invites us to come to Him, to receive the strength and hope we need to persevere. When we’re tired, when we feel like giving up, He offers us His Body and Blood, the Eucharist, to revive us and give us new life.
Let us pray that God helps us prepare our hearts to receive this sacred gift, and that it may bring healing and renewal to our lives. May the Eucharist be our strength and our hope, guiding us towards our heavenly home. Amen.
St Francis Xavier, Pray for us.
