Homily of Wednesday in the 28th Week of the Ordinary Time Year C (St Teresa)

Dear friends, our Christian life is rooted in love. Love, as we know, is patient, kind, and accommodating. If we truly embody these qualities, we’ll be tolerant of one another, accommodating each other’s flaws, and refraining from judgment.
In his letter to the Romans, St. Paul reminds us that judgment belongs to God, not us. He warns against hypocrisy, pointing out that we often fall into the same traps we criticize in others. When we point fingers, we load people with burdens hard to bear, while neglecting our own shortcomings.
As Christians, our vocation is not to judge, but to love. Love that comes from within, guiding us to be gentle, kind, and compassionate. Let us prioritize empathy and understanding, recognizing that we all have our own struggles and weaknesses. By doing so, we’ll cultivate a spirit of tolerance and patience, leaving judgment to God, who sees the heart and judges each person according to their deeds.
May we strive to be instruments of love, peace, and understanding, reflecting the compassion and kindness of Christ in our interactions with others. Amen.
