The Gospel of today stresses on the privileges and opportunities that the generation of Jesus’ time shared.
Jesus accused them of seeking for signs and miracles as a proof of faith and trust. This goes on to show that they do not have that personal, intimate knowledge and faith of Jesus who is amongst them. The people of Nineveh repented when Jonah preached to them this is a sign that they came to recognise the importance of God in their lives and they asked for pardon and reconciliation, the queen of the South travelled to seek the wisdom of Solomon because it is profitable..

By extension the Gospel of today is trying to tell us the privileges we share as those who are opportuned to be closer to God. Many Churches, many Bishops, priests Rev sisters and other men of God, but still this generation seems to be driven away from God totally. We are told today that at the Judgement day the People who struggled before time to have access to these opportunities will stand up against us because if they were given the opportunites they will not be like us.

Now we have jesus who is the fullness of knowledge, wisdom, truth and salvation yet we still seek for more else where because we have not had that personal encounter with him. If we know him and trust in him then he will be enough for us there will be no need seeking for solutions to our problems elsewhere. All he wants is for us to trust in him, in his words and in the power of his resurrection.

PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL
