In God’s world, there’s enough for everyone.

Dear friends in Christ,
Today’s gospel text beautifully responds to Peter’s question from yesterday’s reading. As the homilist aptly asked yesterday, “Who then can be saved?” Today’s passage reminds us that God’s ways are not our ways, and it answers that question by showing us that in God’s world, there’s enough for everyone – everyone can be saved.

We often live by a wage-based mindset rather than embracing a grace-filled life. We compare ourselves to others, competing in a way that requires someone to lose for us to win. But Jesus teaches us differently. In the parable, those who worked different hours received the same reward, showing that God’s generosity isn’t bound by time but by grace.

For those who feel they’re too late to be saved, remember that God’s world has enough for everyone. You’re never too late when dealing with a generous God. However, must you wait until the last minute? No one knows when that might be, so now is the best time to respond to God’s call by saying “…no one has hired us.”

Jesus invites us to trust in His Father’s abundance, where there are many mansions in His house. Let’s pray for the wisdom to understand that in God’s world, there’s enough for everyone.

Shalom.
