*HOMILY OF THE 6TH SUNDAY OF THE ORDINARY TIME YEAR C.*

Jer. 17:5-8, 1Cor 15:12.16-20, Luke 6:17-20-26.

*THEME: WAITING ON GOD

Whatever we cannot wait for does not worth dying for.
When we rely on man, we work with the timing of man and we indulge in devilish activities without counting the cost.

Our trust in God keeps in us joyful hope even when we have not receive our desires in concrete terms. It helps us to relish that fact that God’s time is the best. That is wisdom.

However to trust or wait on God is to be lovers of process. We need premises to jump into conclusion. No one should expect the joy of the resurrection without accepting the theology of the cross. Nothing good comes so easy. We must be patient to see how God works with us even in the midst of seemingly deplorable situations.

Paul said in the second reading, ” _If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sin. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, We are of all men most to be pitied_ .”

We demonstrate faith in action when our lives show clearly the life, suffering and death of Jesus. Obedience to God’s way despite all odds is the simple evidence.

Moreover, the beatitudes point to the blessedness of the moment for those who put their trust in God no matter what they are passing through in the now.

Fast forwarding into fortune is the secret behind the popular “Yahoo plus ritual” which lure our youths into sacrificing their own vital force and that of others for cheap gain.

Interestingly, the music, ” *EACH DAY* ” by Yai Felix, CSSp summarises it all( _you can access this through these links.

Faith strengthened by life crosses is power. It is trust. It is satisfaction. It is endurance. It is peace.

May the Lord strengthen our faith amidst life’s ups and downs. Amen.
