*THEME: COMMITTED TO THE WORD.*

The strength of the church is not from the number of signs and wonders her leaders or members perform. It is in how well instructed the members are in the word. It is the word of God that will take us home.

Paul said to the elders of the church in Ephesus, “Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you guardian, to feed the church of the Lord, which he obtained with his own blood.” Acts 20:28.

More so, the Lord Jesus said in his priestly prayer, “I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth, your word is truth” John 17:14-15

Our maturity can only be judged by the level of our spiritual enlightenment.

We cannot know God without being knowledgeable in the word. Many people are tossed up and down today by self-aclaimed prophets because of their ignorance of the scripture. There are fierce wolves out there looking for souls to destroy. Some of them are garbed in the clothing of “men and women of God” They backed their erroneous teaching with signs and wonders so as to seduce people out of the way.

May the word of God dwell in us in all its richness that we may stand firm in our practice of the true faith through Christ our Lord. Amen.
