The Genesis of God’s call is well illustrated in the book Genesis as the readings of today pointed it out.

God’s call comes without no preparation, whom he calls he prepares. The stage was totally set for Abram (Abraham). With God’s preparation and Abram’s dedication to answer God’s call. The intentions of God was achieved and Abram got his reward too.

God’s call to Abram teaches us that is decision of God to pick who he wishes for his work and not human. No matter the age, the tribe, the Colour, the time, the place. Whom God calls he prepares and whom he prepares he sends.

God’s call can be challenging and demanding just like Abram’s. It can be at a age, place or time that seems uncomfortable but the utmost thing to do is to trust in God as Abram did. There is a reason for a very call. There is a country to be saved or a soul to be converted, is not something we should ignore, but we all should learn from Abram today to obey God’s call so that in due time the joy and rewards that follows it will be ours.

In the Gospel of today one of the golden rules was spelt out “The judgements you give are the judgements you will get”. There was a very popular social media trend year that has the P.O.V “we listen we don’t judge”. In this trend one important lesson that I learnt is that each and everyone of us is not perfect, in one way or the other there is something we are doing wrong. So if you judge one person then you will be judged.

Jesus is not condemning corrections or promoting wrong doings in this particular teaching, rather he is trying to stress the point that we are all sinners in the need of God’s mercy. So no one should condemn or heavily or judge one another based on their wrongdoing, as if they are perfect.

As people of God let’s not be hypocrites, rather let us try to start and follow corrections from ourselves up to our neighbors. Let us try to correct and not judge, criticize and not condemn.

We are all seeking the Kingdom of God and by God’s grace all our efforts will not be in vain.

PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL
