THOSE WHO WILL ENTER HEAVEN

Eph 3:2-12, Luke 12:39-48

Prevention is better than cure. It is better to spend our money on food than spending it on drugs. It is funny putting security measures only when our house has been burgled into.

Preparedness is to prefer to die on our feet. Effective Christianity cannot function in a state of inertia. It is better we wear out in use than to rust out in inactivity.

A true Christian is he who is ever prepared for the coming of the Lord.

The Lord said in today’s Gospel, “Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing. Truly I tell you. He will set him over his possessions.” Luke 12:44

To be awake is to be aware. To be aware is to be conscious of our activities. If they are done in God, good. If not, we may suffer the fate of those who will be caught unaware on the last day.

Know this, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would have been awake and would not have left his house to be broken into. You also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Luke 12:39-40

Those who will enter heaven are those who put God first in all they do.

May the works of our hands, the words on our lips and the thoughts of our hearts win acceptance in God’s sight. Amen.
