God speaks to man through man. He has many messengers while he remains the only God.
The one who hears should not forget that he is also a man. When he hears he should do too.*
Paul, in the first reading said, ” _Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! ……..but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.”_
Jesus asked an important question in today’s gospel, ” _Can a blind man lead a blind man?”_
Every disciple should know that he has a teacher.
Every instructor should not forget that he is a man under authority.
God works in us to will and to do. If we must speak in his name, we must walk in his ways. If we must speak for him, we must know his exact words and must allow his spirit to animate our words and actions.
May the word of God dwell in us in all its richness that we may be his true messengers in words and deeds. Amen.
