THEME: CELEBRATING THE BIRTHDAY OF MARY*

Today, the Mother Church celebrates the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary was the daughter of Joachim and Anne. She was a holy woman, who in her humility was made worthy to open the door of salvation to the world.

There are some facts that we need to understand about life. We must know that our importance is hinged on our values. Our significance is the product of the roles we play in the society. And our prominence is determined by the necessity we serve in the community.

The place of Mary is known in the part she played in the economy of our salvation. She was predestined to be the mother of the Saviour. She opened the door for a new dawn in the history of the world redemption.

Moreover, our life is worth celebrating only when it has been certified to have given birth to greater life. When we place ourselves at the service of Jesus, when we prepare wherever we go for his coming, we automatically share in the role of Mary.

Like Mary, we must allow Jesus to live in us. This will be evident by our ways of life. Let us surrender our life to Jesus that he may use us channels of his Grace.

*PRAYER*
O Jesus, living in Mary, come and live in your servants, in the spirit of your holiness, in the fullness of your power, in the perfection of your way, in the reality of your virtues, in the communion of your mysteries, have dominion over every adverse, in your own spirit to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
