THEME: THE LEADER WORTHY OF THE NAME

In our today’s first reading, God promised Moses that he will make a great nation of him, but threatened to consume his people with his anger because of their disobedient.

However, Moses refused to play the role of a selfish leader. He did not settle for God’s promise for him alone, he went ahead to plead for the people. And he said, “O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?”

A good leader is ever concerned for the welfare of his people. Every leader who knows the need to serve and not to be served will always care for the needs and safety of his people. Any leader who is comfortable while his subjects are suffering is not worthy of the name.

May our heart burn for the good of the people who we are meant to serve in Jesus name. Amen.
